Chiropractic Adjustments

Chiropractic adjustments are safe, noninvasive procedures used to correct misaligned vertebrae (subluxations) and restore proper joint function. Performed exclusively by trained chiropractic doctors, these adjustments reduce pain, inflammation, muscle tension, and nerve interference - helping to improve overall health.

Spinal adjustments involve applying a controlled force to specific joints using hands or specialized tools, such as the activator. Chiropractors use various tests to locate subluxations, which may be present even without symptoms, making regular spinal checkups important.

In addition to the spine and pelvis, chiropractors can adjust extremity joints - including shoulders, knees, wrists, and even the jaw to enhance mobility, eliminate pain, reduce wear, and support joint health, to keep everyone active and pain free.
Activator Method

Activator Method

Activator Method Chiropractic Technique

Developed in the late 1960s as a way to improve safety and comfort during chiropractic adjustments, the Activator Method Chiropractic Technique is the most widely used low-force chiropractic method worldwide. It uses a hand-held Activator Adjusting Instrument to deliver gentle, precise, and targeted spinal adjustments without the joint "popping" or "cracking" of traditional manual methods. Patients lie comfortably face-down on a specialized table and the spring-loaded device ensures safe, accurate alignment with minimal strain or pain.

The technique incorporates advanced orthopedic, neurological, and chiropractic assessments to identify specific problem areas. Doctors are extensively trained and must pass annual certification. Dr. Sansen holds an Advanced Proficiency rating and serves as an instructor.

Laser & Light Therapy

Laser & Light Therapy

Laser & Light Therapy

Also known as Cold Laser or Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), Laser Therapy is a noninvasive treatment that accelerates healing and reduces pain in both musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.

It’s effective for:
  • Sprains
  • Strains
  • Nerve pain
  • Carpal tunnel
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Scar tissue reduction, and more.

When applied correctly, it shortens recovery time and improves tissue function and strength. Backed by thousands of studies, including over 100 clinical trials, LLLT has shown success in treating conditions such as arthritis, tendonitis, migraines, TMJ, burns, acne, wounds, and peripheral neuropathy.
Neuropathy

Neuropathy

Neuropathy

Neuropathy, or Peripheral Neuropathy, is nerve damage in the peripheral nervous system often causing numbness, tingling, burning sensations, sensitivity to touch, difficulty with balance, and trouble using the hands.

Common causes include diabetes, chemotherapy, statin medications, toxin exposure, and physical trauma. While medications may mask symptoms, they don’t address the root cause.

At Kitsap Chiropractic, we offer a non-invasive, comprehensive treatment plan designed to halt progression and promote nerve and blood vessel repair. An in-depth exam helps determine if this treatment is right for you.

Pregnancy & Pediatric Chiropractic Care

Pregnancy: Chiropractic care during pregnancy is safe, gentle, and can enhance comfort throughout pregnancy and delivery. Studies show it may reduce the need for pain medication during labor. As the body adapts to pregnancy through postural changes and hormone-induced joint mobility, chiropractic adjustments help support spinal and pelvic alignment for a healthier experience.

Children: Chiropractic care can benefit children by supporting the nervous system, which controls growth, healing, and overall function. Newborns should be checked for subluxations shortly after birth, as the birthing process can cause spinal stress. Untreated misalignments may impact immunity and contribute to common childhood issues like colic, ear infections, or frequent colds.

Chiropractic care is a natural approach that helps the body function optimally, without medication or invasive procedures. Dr Jennifer Sansen has a Pediatric Chiropractic Fellowship completed in 2000 and again in 2016.

Kinesiology Taping

Kinesiology Taping

Kinesiology Taping

Developed in the 1970s by Dr. Kenzo Kase, Kinesiology Taping is a therapeutic technique designed to support muscles and joints without restricting movement. The tape mimics the elasticity of human skin, making it comfortable to wear - even in shoes or while showering, and it can stay in place for several days.

Kinesiology Tape helps reduce pain, swelling, and inflammation, and supports healing in cases of sprains, joint pain, muscle strains, cramps, and soft tissue injuries. It also aids circulation, improves muscle function, and allows athletes to remain active during recovery - without the discomfort or limitations of traditional bandaging methods.
